11:30 – 12:30
Artificial Intelligence and neural networks
Patrice Wira, University lecturer in signal processing and computer science, MIPS department, UHA
Patrice Wira will present an overview of “Machine Learning”, self-learning machines, artificial intelligence and more specifically focus on neural networks.
13:30 – 14:30
Data journalism: overview, illustration and limits
Raphaël Da Silva, data journalist
Introduction to data journalism from the 19th century to the present day; examples taken from Rue89 Strasbourg. Helpful tips and various limits.
14:30 – 15:15
Trainings in the field of data available in Alsace
Patrice Wira (UHA), Pierre Parrend (ECAM), TBA (Epitech)
To keep up with the growing demand, Data Science interferes with formations of different levels. Overview of the data trainings held at ECAM, UHA and EPITECH

To be announced
16:30 – 17:15
Some feedback on Kaggle competition
Sébastien Juras, ALE
Kaggle competitions are online datasets given to the Data Scientist community to solve a challenge often based on the ability to create a program, mostly with Machine Learning tools, to detect or predict complex mechanisms between data. Examples: Detecting objects in a photo or predicting those who live or die on the Titanic by knowing only the profile of the passenger. Sébastien Juras will give us some feedback on his experience.
16:30 – 17:30
Data Visualization for effective decision-making
Olivier Catherin (Actinvision)
Visualization of raw data as well as the rendering of their analyzes with graphs/drawings are critical tasks for Data Scientists. Olivier will present various data analyzes and their restitutions through the software Plateau.
17:30 – 18:30
Live Code Captation and data transmission with LoRa
Live Code Captation and data transmission with LoRa.
17:45 – 18:30
Machine Learning using R all the way through
Simon Keith (Actinvision)
This workshop will focus on building a Machine Learning application using the R language: from data analysis to the building of an API (OPEN CPU). From the driving principle to the deployment of an OPEN CPU API.
- AWARD CEREMONY
15:30 – 18:00
Pitches and award ceremony
Come and watch the pitches of the Data Trek participants and check which projects will be rewarded. The last stretch of the Data Trekkers is open to everyone!
